Painting veröffentlichen heute die komplette Remix EP zu ihrem aktuellen Album "Snapshot Of Pure Attention" auf Sinnbus und Lost Map.
Das vierte und finale Stück dieser Reihe ist die Zusammenarbeit mit Qrauer, dem Projekt des deutschen Electronic - Produzenten und Videokünstlers Christian Grochau.
Zu seinem Ansatz sagt Grochau:
"Am Original haben mich vor allem der Groove und der markante Gesang angesprochen. Obwohl der Track musikalisch zunächst recht weit von meinem eigenen Schaffen entfernt ist, hatte ich schnell eine klare Vorstellung davon, wie mein Remix klingen könnte. Grundsätzlich versuche ich, die Struktur des Originals zu respektieren und sie Schritt für Schritt zu verfremden, Elemente zu verändern und eigene rhythmische Konstrukte zu entwickeln, um am Ende einen neuen, passenden harmonischen Layer darunterzulegen."
Today, Painting release the complete remix EP accompanying their recent album "Snapshot Of Pure Attention". The EP is out on Sinnbus und Lost Map.
The fourth and final collaboration features Qrauer, the artist moniker for German electronic music producer and videographer Christian Grochau.
As for his approach, Grochau explains:
"What appealed to me most about the original were the groove and the distinctive vocals. Although, musically, the track is quite different from my own work at first glance, I quickly had a clear idea of how my remix might sound. Generally I try to respect the structure of the original and then gradually alter it, changing elements and developing my own rhythmic structures, so that in the end I can lay a new, fitting harmonic layer underneath."
