Loupe veröffentlichen heute ihr zweites Album "Oh, To Be Home"! Das Album folgt der persönlichen Geschichte von Sängerin Nina Ouattara, die zwischen der Elfenbeinküste, Belgien und den Niederlanden aufgewachsen ist. In ihren Texten spricht sie von Erinnerung, Identität, Familie und der Suche nach einem Platz zwischen den Kulturen.
Die Musik für das Album haben Loupe komplett live und vor geladenem Publikum aufgenommen. Dabei präsentieren sie wie immer ihren impulsiven Bandsound, spannend und fluide zwischen Indie-Rock, Folk und Synthie-Pop: mitreißenden Harmonien, frei fließenden Rhythmen und der tolle Gesang bilden wie auch schon auf den bisherigen Aufnahmen Loupe's Geheimsprache.
In der Single "On Dit Quio?" berichtet Ouattara von verlorenen Freundschaften durch das Umziehen, von der Sehnsucht und alten Erinnerungen, von einer so persönlichen Geschichte, dass sie sie auf französisch singt. Begleitend zum Stück veröffentlichen Loupe heute auch das Video, das während der Album-Sessions aufgenommen wurde.
Loupe are releasing their second album "Oh, To Be Home" today! The album follows the personal story of singer Nina Ouattara, who grew up between Ivory Coast, Belgium and the Netherlands. In her lyrics, she talks about memory, identity, family and the search for a place between cultures.
Loupe recorded the music for the album completely live and in front of a live audience. As always, they present their impulsive band sound, exciting and fluid between indie rock, folk and synth pop: rousing harmonies, free-flowing rhythms and great vocals form Loupe's secret language, as already known from their previous recordings.
In the single "On Dit Quio?", Ouattara tells of friendships lost through moving away, of longing and old memories, of a story so personal that she sings it in French. Accompanying the track, Loupe are releasing a video today too, which was recorded during the album sessions.
